Xerox Card-Signing Event to Help Golf Fans Thank Troops Overseas

PHOENIX and ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Xerox Corporation (NYSE: XRX) is inviting fans at one of the largest golf events on the PGA Tour to show U.S. soldiers just how much their community back home appreciates them.

The Let's Say Thanks! "Postcards from Home" card drive at the 2006 FBR Open - which begins next week in Scottsdale, Ariz. - is designed to give the public an easy way to print, sign and send a free postcard to more than 7,000 men and women from Air Force and Army National Guard units based throughout the West Coast.

The card designs were drawn by children with relatives serving overseas and by children from The Boys & Girls Clubs of Scottsdale. The kids, ages 6 to 14, drew pictures that symbolized home - everything from a local desert landscape to an American bald eagle.

"I used the words 'united we stand' because our troops help protect us and I support them," said winning postcard artist Nestor Martinez, 14, of Scottsdale. His drawing of an eagle includes the messages "United We Stand" and "Thank You."

Xerox will set up a card pavilion on Feb. 1 and 2 on the grounds of the Tournament Players Club of Scottsdale. Spectators can sign one of four colorful postcards produced on a Xerox iGen3™ Digital Production Press by Hogue Printing Solutions, a commercial printer based in Mesa, Ariz.

A Xerox Phaser™ 8550 color printer also will be printing additional cards on-site at the event. Following the tournament, Xerox will ship the postcards to military units stationed at posts in Iraq, Egypt, Kosovo and elsewhere.

"The soldiers risk their lives for our freedom, so the drawings are only a small way for the children to show their appreciation to the troops and their families," said Steve Davidson, senior vice president of operations, The Boys & Girls Clubs of Scottsdale. "As an organization we felt it was an important subject for our kids to understand."

The "Postcards from Home" event is expected to bring the total number of messages delivered by Xerox to U.S. soldiers to about 13,000. In December, Xerox joined with the Georgia Army National Guard to hold a card drive in Atlanta. More than 6,000 greeting cards designed by young relatives of the soldiers were signed by the public and delivered to the Guard's 48th Brigade Combat Team.

In addition to hosting the card drive, Xerox will provide networked digital production printing and multifunction technology along with on-site support technicians to print course information for the FBR Open. Xerox production equipment will print more than half a million pairing sheets, which identify the tee times for each golfer.
