HP today announced it has awarded technology grants totaling more than $250,000 to the Conway Public School District and the Greater Arkansas Region of the American Red Cross.

HP donated approximately $210,000 in technology to the Conway Public School District, including 64 HP notebook PCs and 24 multiseat desktop bundles. The desktop bundles will be used in elementary, intermediate and middle school computer labs throughout the district. The technology will provide students with opportunities to experience a wide array of web-based curriculums to enhance and accelerate their learning in science, math, engineering and technology (STEM) as well as reading and writing and social studies.

Teachers will use the notebooks to further their depth of content knowledge and to integrate technology into their curricula. Sample lesson plans will be created by master teachers for replication across all disciplines, grades and schools.

HP donated approximately $41,000 in technology to the Greater Arkansas Region of the American Red Cross to help with its Mobile Disaster Relief Project. The project allows relief workers to enter information directly into the Red Cross database, providing more efficient relief to those affected by disasters. On-call volunteers will be given access to one of 24 HP EliteBook Mobile Workstations, which will enable them to render relief onsite and save crisis victims an additional trip to the local Red Cross office.
