ATLANTA and ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Offset Atlanta has added a Xerox (NYSE: XRX) iGen3™ 110 Digital Production Press to help grow revenue, broaden its customer base, and complement its traditional offset printing services.

Offset Atlanta is part of Nationwide Graphics/Premier Print - a network of 16 commercial printers across the United States.

"Our clients are demanding shorter print runs, quick turnaround and personalization capabilities, areas where the iGen3 press excels," said Gene Hindman, president of Offset Atlanta. "With the Xerox iGen3, we will actually grow our offset printing volume by securing customers that require both services."

Prior to installing the 110 page-per-minute Xerox iGen3 press, Offset Atlanta migrated short-run, personalized print jobs from its offset equipment to a Xerox DocuColor™ 2060 Digital Color Press. According to Hindman, the company expects to print 500,000 pages a month on the Xerox iGen3 press and will use it for customers in industries such as real estate, financial services and education.

With the iGen3 press, Offset Atlanta will now be able to solicit a more diverse customer base that was using other suppliers in the past and now looking to produce short-run color jobs. According to Hindman, his company will have the opportunity to provide those services with the iGen3 press and also have a chance to bid on the client's occasional offset work as needed.

For example, a local real estate broker allowed Offset Atlanta to quote on a small quantity sales booklet. The client was so pleased with the result that Offset Atlanta is now quoting on pocket folders and direct-mail pieces that will be produced on its offset equipment. "Without the Xerox iGen3, we never would have had an opportunity to work with this client and get these jobs," said Hindman.

Offset Atlanta purchased the digital press because of its ability to print large sheet sizes and its offset-like image quality, especially when compared to competitive digital color presses. Hindman said the iGen3 press was well-known among its print buyers even before it was installed.

To demonstrate the capabilities of the press and show how Offset Atlanta can increase revenue for its customers, the company created its own customized marketing piece promoting its expanded services. Offset Atlanta expects to produce a range of applications on the iGen3 press, including full-color brochures, fliers, postcards and more complex one-to-one marketing campaigns. According to Hindman, personalization jobs will gradually grow to 50 percent of its business.

The company uses a Creo Inc. color server on the iGen3 press for a consistent and seamless workflow transferring files throughout the Nationwide Graphics/Premier Print network.
