KYOCERA MITA to Establish New Factory in Hai Phong, Vietnam to Manufacture Printers & Multifunctional Products
Kyocera Mita Corporation (herein “Kyocera Mita”) announced construction plans of a new large-scale manufacturing plant for the company’s printers and multifunctional products (MFPs) at the Vietnam Singapore Industrial Park (VSIP*) in Hai Phong, Vietnam. Kyocera Mita is the first major company to set up facilities in the VSIP Hai Phong and its president, Mr. Katsumi Komaguchi, today received the company’s investment certificate.
The new 20-hectare (approx. 2,153,000 ft2) manufacturing plant will be located in the VSIP Hai Phong — about 120 kilometers (approx. 75 miles) east of the capital Hanoi, and well known as the biggest port city in the northern part of Vietnam. The first phase of construction work will start this October, with plant operation scheduled to begin in October 2012.
Presently, Kyocera Mita has three manufacturing plants located in Hirakata (Osaka Prefecture, Japan), Tamaki (Mie Prefecture, Japan), and Dong Guan (Guang Dong Province, China). However, to meet the growing demand for office equipment in developing countries in the near future, the company has decided to build what will become its second largest plant following its existing plant in China. The new plant in Hai Phong is strategically located as the port facilities are fully-equipped. As a community-based enterprise, Kyocera Mita will strive to not only succeed in its business, but also contribute to the vitalization and economic development of the region.
* The VSIP was initiated by the governments of Vietnam and Singapore.
